In the second episode of the eighth season of The Simpsons, the family moves from Springfield to Cypress Creek when Homer accepts a position at the Globex Corporation. Little does he know that his boss, Hank Scorpio, is an evil mastermind bent on world domination. Albert Brooks guest stars as the voice of the maniacal Hank Scorpio.

While Homer is actually being productive at work, his family isn't quite doing so well. Marge finds herself spending the day sipping on wine as the automated home they live in takes care of all of the chores. Bart is forced into a remedial program when his teacher finds out that he cannot read cursive handwriting. Lisa's affinity for nature has an adverse effect on her when her allergies kick up in the local woods.

When Homer realizes how miserable his family is in their new life in Cypress Creek, he quits the Globex Corporation and moves back to Springfield.
