After a night of drinking, Homer stumbles out into the woods, where he happens upon an alien being. Even though the alien wishes to "bring you love," Homer screams and runs back home. Marge and Lisa don't believe him because they know he's been drinking. The rest of the town would seem to agree, as they think he's just being crazy. The only person who does believe him is Bart because of Homer's insistance of his claim.

Mulder and Scully of X-Files fame come to Springfield to investigate the case. When they administer tests on Homer, things don't turn out so good. After Homer and Bart capture video of the alien in the woods, the entire town is at his door, ready to believe in him and in the alien. They all come out to woods, waiting for the alien to make another appearance.

The alien does appear, but the townspeople want to kill it. Lisa flashes a light onto the alien, revealing it to be Mr. Burns. Smithers comes out to explain everything. Every weekend, Mr. Burns goes through a lengthy process that is designed to allow him to live for another week. He's injected with a lot of morphine, has his eyes dilated, gets extreme chiropractic done, and has his vocal cords scraped. His alien glow comes from working at the nuclear power plant for so long. Everything is fine after Burns is injected with another shot of morphine.
